On November 3, 2007 Deborah and I visited with Carol, Brent and Holly.
Carol told us a story about Grandpa G. It seems that after working for many years his boss at NBC took offense at something Dad did or said or just plain didn’t like him. So he demoted him in position. He put Dad in charge of cleaning the heads of the video machines and other menial tasks. This lasted for five years at which time a new boss took over, who knew of Dad’s talents and reinstated him to his previous position.
Mother also told the story of being an “older mother.” She had been warned about the challenges this might provide but of course went ahead anyway. One day she was chasing JT down the backyard steps and took a fall on the bottom step. She tore her ankle badly and went to Dr. Slight the family physician. As he looked at the black and blue ankle, he looked up at her and said, “I've been expecting you.”
